Long Time

I haven't posted in a very long time. I have been busy with the M-TEC course I have been taking for the past 21 months. I got behind, and now I am having to play catch up. My wife duties are slacking and it is really starting to bother me. I am trying to figure out a way to ballance everything. I just do not know how working mothers and wives do it all.

I am trying to work out a schedule to get everything done, it is just so hard. I stopped using my household binder. I have spent the last couple of days trying to revamp it and get things a little more organized. I even figured out how to REALY use MS OUTLOOK to my advantage. It does some things I didn't know it did :)

I have also been slacking in my spiritual reading. I am going to try and get that back on track too.

I believe

This was in my email this morning and I loved it so much I had to share...

I Believe...
That just because two people argue,
It doesn't mean they don't love each other.

And just because they don't argue,
It doesn't mean they do love each other.
I Believe...

That we don't have to change friends if
We understand that friends change.
I Believe....

That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I Believe...

That you can do something in an instant
That will give you heartache for life.
I Believe...

That it's taking me a long time
To become the person I want to be.
I Believe...

That you should always leave loved ones with

Loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I Believe...

That you can keep going long after you think you can't.
I Believe....

That we are responsible for what
We do, no matter how we feel.
I Believe...

That either you control your attitude or it controls you.
I Believe...

That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I Believe...

That money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I Believe....

That my best friend and I, can do anything, or nothing and have the best time.
I Believe....

That sometimes the people you expect to kick you When you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.
I Believe...

That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry,
But that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
I Believe...

That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had
And what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
I Believe....

That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
I Believe...

That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.
I Believe....

That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are,
But, we are responsible for who we become.
I Believe...

That you shouldn't be so eager to find
Out a secret. It could change your life Forever.
I Believe....

Two people can look at the exact same
Thing and see something totally different.
I Believe...

That your life can be changed in a matter of
Hours by people who don't even know you.
I Believe...

That even when you think you have no more to give, when
A friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.
I Believe...

That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
I Believe...

That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

'The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the most of everything.

Google Chrome

I have found the best browser! It is called Google Chrome. I downloaded it last week. At first I wasn't sure that I was going to like it, but the more I play with it, the more I love it! I would highly suggest everyone download it and play with it for a while to see if they too love it as much as I do.

BRRRRR...

It is COLD! The weather took a turn for the worst last night. We have a high of 30 with snow flurries. Thankfully it is suppose to be back in the 50's tomorrow.

We have had some unusually worm weather so far this winter. Yesterday it was almost 70. 65-70 in the winter would be just fine with me. I hate cold weather. I am telling you I was born in the wrong place. I am hoping that we don't see too many more days like today. Also looking forward to hubby retiring so we can move somewhere warm!

The only thing about cold weather is curling up in a cozy quilt sitting by the fire drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows. I think tonight we will do that and get out the Christmas movies and watch my favorite, Nester the long eared Christmas donkey. Any one remember that one? It has always been my favorite Christmas cartoon. I also feel like baking something. What are some of your favorite baking recipes? I am not much of a baker, but I sure can make a mean batch of chocolate chip coconut cookies. They are delish. my mother-in-law taught me how to make chocolate pies this past Thanksgiving, can't wait to make a couple of those...mmmmmm yummy!

Well I am off to try and get warm...BRRRRRRRRR

Wonderful Times

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We decided NOT to cook this year, instead we went out to eat. The meal was ok, but not having to clean up was the best! I have to say, I missed the "family" stuffing and all the fixings. After we returned home (with extended family that was visiting) I volunteered to do it all next year!

We had a nice visit with the family. We played games and looked through all the Black Friday fliers with the kids. My sister-in-law got up at 3 in the morning and went shopping. I had most of my shopping finished, but my middle son and her daughter wanted laptops and I enjoy a good deal! We found a pretty good buy at Office Depot. It wasn't the best deal out there, but I am not a crowd person and believe me ALL the stores were crowded. We talked to people who slept out side of stores to get the "item" they wanted! Can you believe that?? We went to Walmart and quickly turned around. I have never seen such craze in the eyes of people before. It was so crowded that you couldn't even walk! No thank you, not even to save money.

I hope everyone had a great Holiday and were able to spend it with loved ones. Only 23 days and we get to do it all again!

Behind and little update.

I have gotten very behind as far as my online stuff goes. I am having to do a mass delete as far as emails go, and I haven't worked on any of my online bible studies. I am hoping to get back to everything in the next week or so. I am looking forward to doing more of The Wifes Biblical Submission study. I have missed it.

Nothing major has been going on around here. Scott and I continue to work on our relationship. We are not perfect but try hard to learn from our mistakes. We are using ourselves as an example to the kids. Reminding them tha teven grown-up make mistakes and all you can do it confess them to one another and God, and ask fro forgiveness, then do better next time. Isn't that how we all grow?

We have been spending a lot of quality time with the kids (anyone with older kids knows how difficult it is to have everyone home at once, they all start having their own interests). We have set up some new ideas in our house to insure that everyone is together in the same room for a little while instead of everyone doing their own thing in their rooms. To be honest that drives me crazy. Everyone hangs out alone in their room unless it is dinner time. Of course when we impliment our plans they act like it is going to kill them, but everyone always ends up havign a good time. Scott made the comment that he understands that protesting family time at their age is a requirment, but we told that we know deep down they want to do it and ALWAYS have fun no matter how much protesting they do!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Can you believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner? I guess I need to start planning my Christmas shopping, not looking forward to that :)

Been A While

It has been a while since I posted. I have been really busy here at home. Hubby has made some free time off from work to spend with me here and there and we have been enjoying it. We went to see the new movie Fireproof. It was FANTASTIC! We both enjoyed watching it. If you have the chance, I urge you to see it.

We also went to the bookstore and purchased a book to read together. We both really enjoy reading and read every night before bed (and any other chance we get). We decided to make our reading time more special by reading a book together out loud. We have a dream of selling the business some day and buying a sail boat and traveling around the world. So naturally we chose a sailing book. I have really enjoyed doing this with my husband :)

Last night we took all the kids to the Amazing Fun Farm right outside of town. We went through the corn maze. We had a really good time. It was too dark to pick pumpkins from the pumpkin patch so we are saving that for another day :) That is my favorite thing to do in the fall. Picking pumpkins in the pumpkin patch.

New Blog Design

I created a new blog header and background last night, couldn't sleep since my hubby is out of town. I bought a new scrapbooking kit from Kay Miller Designs. I thought it was really cute. I wanted something with different colors, but I liked the house and tree...too precious! I just started digital scrapbooking and I am trying to learn PS CS3. There are so many things I would like to be able to do, but I just haven't figured out how to do them in Photo Shop yet, sigh. Oh well, someday after lots of good practice I am sure I will figure it out.

All Alone

My DH went out of town for the weekend. He left yesterday at noon. I was suppose to go with him, but our sitter fell through. I sure miss him when he is gone :( I also worry about him. He drag races, and this weekend is the bracket finals. I hope he wins big, but at the same time, the sooner he is out, the sooner he gets to come home. Isn't that awful of me to think? Either way I wish I were there and I can't wait till he gets home!

As if it isn't unsettling enough when my husband is out of town, my dog layed at my feet and growled until 3 am! I know the pup was missing him too, so I tired not to get scared, but when your dog is growling and your alone it is pretty nerve racking and makes it hard to sleep. I feel like a zombie this morning. I this is going to be one of those days that Mom gets a nap. Maybe I can convince the kids to help me out around the house when they get home. It is an early release day for them.

It's a Monday!

It is definitely a Monday! No one wanted to get up and go to school this morning, and I have to admit that I didn't want to get up either. I didn't sleep well last night, it was one of those nights that I had crazy dreams all night long...you know the ones that when you wake up you are so weirded out that you can't go back to sleep because you are lying there trying to figure out why you would dream such a thing! Usually when that happens I might have one or two of them, but last night they lasted ALL NIGHT! I would fall back to sleep and it would pick up where it left off. Good thing that those kind of night are few and far between.

The kids had sleep overs this weekend. This particular friend has a mother who lets them stay up ALL night if they want too, and they drink and eat TONS of sugar while they are there. So we are paying the price this morning for that.

New Blog

I am new to this blogging thing, but I thought why not give it a try!
Here is a little about myself. I am a SAHM and Wife. I have the best job in the world! I love to organize and keep my home. I am married to a wonderful man. We have 5 kids between us. His kids are all in college, and mine range from 11-16. He has a boy and a girl. I have all boys. We work hard everyday to create a loving blended family. A home where everyone feels like they belong. Sometimes it is harder than others :) I am sure that anyone who has a blended family will understand that!

We have been through some rough times in the past, but have worked very hard to figure out what works for us. I am so blessed that my husband works hard so that I can stay at home and create a home. I love the fact that I am at home when my children get home off the bus. I know that my situation could easily be different than it is right now and I thank God everyday for my kind and generous husband.

With this blog, I would like to document my journey as a SAHM & Wife. I will post recipes, household tips, ways I organize, and other things that have to do with my home life. For safety reasons I will refrain from using our names. I will use code when discussing me and my family.
